Paul Tyan is a French-Lebanese film composer based in Paris. Born in a musical family he started playing at the age of 11 as a self taught musician. In his first years he was part of several indie bands and produced his own albums performing live on guitar and piano. As he started scoring films he chose to complement his pop background with a formal classical training at the École Normale de Musique de Paris and a film scoring workshop at New York University (NYU).
Since then he scored fiction films and documentaries that screened at festivals such as Cannes, Sundance, Toronto, Tribeca, as well as on TV and Netflix. In 2018 his score for the film Tickling Giants was pre-selected in the Oscar race for Best Original Score and Best Original Song.
Paul is currently scoring Clara Roquet's next feature film Libertad produced by Lastor Media, as well as Francisca Alegria's next short film The Humming of the Beast produced by LuckyChap Entertainment, Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerley, Emily Ziff Griffin & Stephanie Marin.
